The Plight of Mrs. Mango and Company

I happened to be in Indian Harbour Beach recently and had the thought to run over to Mather's Restaurant for a quick lunch and to my unbelievable surprise and shock, the restaurant was gone!  I mean completely gone, part of the dock was floating in the Banana River.  This use to be one of those restaurants that I just figured would always be there, including their greasy hamburgers and chippy picnic tables that lined the outside deck.

I did move out of the area for ahwile so I'm going to assume that hurricane damage took away my beloved Mather's Restaurant that overlooked the Mather's drawbridge. (another Brevard County landmark)

...........and now there's talk of Mrs. Mango and Company having to vacate their herb store!  Oh no!  This is another one of those places that I always assumed would just be there whenever I happened to stop by.
Florida Today had a beautiful story about the plight of Mrs. Mango's in Sunday's paper and let me tell you, the article was right on "Tea & Sympathy" keep customers returning again and again.  I can't tell you the number of times I dropped by for a jar of  honey and the next thing I knew I was given a cup of tea with delightful chit chat.

From the outside, this little herb store looks quite un-assuming in its little spot of land on US1 in Rockledge.
The inside is a different story altogether with it's very welcoming comfy, shabby-chic'ish charm.  Drying herbs hanging from the rafters adds a very special touch to the overall ambiance and magical appeal of Mrs. Mango's.

I don't know all the particulars, only what appeared in the newspaper.  It seems that the property where Mrs. Mango's resides has been put on the market.  It hasn't sold yet and will probably take quite sometime to sell...........so if you're visiting the area it's well worth a trip to visit Mrs. Mango and Company on US 1 in the City of Rockledge.

If you're a local reading this post perhaps you will find it in your heart to make a donation for Mrs. Mango and Company to relocate their business.  A fundraising account has been set up on Go Fund Me.

Culinary herbs, medicinal herbs, local honey and so much more.

From Days Inn Melbourne head north on I95
